It is as part of a crowdfunding campaign which ends at the end of February 2024 that the Japanese manufacturer Aviot presents the Aviot TE-ZX1, the first True Wireless headphones equipped with five transducers, no less. Namely, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cowboy Bebop anime, the design of the headphones is directly inspired by Spike Spiegel's combat ship, the main character of Cowboy Bebop, the Sworfish II.

Aim of the maneuver, to cover a maximum of frequencies and create an immersive sound field like a Home Cinema installation. This type of headphones is generally compact, limiting the size of the transducers which are then supported by DSP (digital signal processor), altering the fidelity of the rendering. To overcome this drawback, Aviot integrates five transducers per earphone - a planar magnetic model, one dynamic, and three balanced armature - to cover a wide dynamic range with precision.
