The story of Footloose traces the remarkable arrival of Ren McCormick (Bacon in his first major role alongside John Lightlow, Chris Penn and the very young Sarah Jessica Parker) in a small town in Texas, where music and dance were formally proscribed by an unkind reverend. A fan of rock and dance, the fiery Ren will try to awaken the youth of this community stuck in another time.
In addition to Kenny Loggins' titles for the cult line dance sequences, other 80s classics dot the Footloose soundtrack: Bonnie Tyler, Sammy Hagar and Moving Pictures.
