Video games on YouTube for Premium members

To ultimately align with Netflix or Prime Video, YouTube continues to test its video game offering, this time with Premium subscribers.

Last June the Wall Street Journal reported that YouTube was internally testing a new feature called Playables, giving its users access to a selection of video games, both on mobile and on computer.

Soon video games on YouTube?

More recently, the site droid--ife reports that Playables is now being tested for all YouTube Premium subscribers, with around thirty small games accessible directly in YouYube, without downloading, including Angry Birds Showdown. The test will run at least until the end of March 2024, and the functionality could be made official if successful. YouTube will thus align itself with competitors like Netflix, Prime Video or Crunchyroll, which also offer a “gaming” offer to their subscribers.
