Which countries spend the most on AI?

Artificial intelligence is at the heart of all debates, which encourages companies around the world to invest billions of dollars.

The past few months have witnessed an unprecedented acceleration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), and serious questions are now being raised about its impact on society.

List of countries investing in AI based on the 2023 AI Index Report

Between artistic creations that raise intellectual property issues, or even deeper questions, we can see that there will be a before and an after AI. One thing is certain, however: there is money to be generated with AI. And to make money, you often have to spend it first. Based on data from Stanford University's 2023 AI Index Report, a list of the countries where the largest sums have been invested in artificial intelligence companies between 2013 and 2022 has been made.

Medical AI drains investments in 2022

The United States is of course in the lead with $248.9 billion, followed by China with $95.1 billion and the United Kingdom with $18.2 billion. France, for its part, ranks eighth with cumulative investments of 6.6 billion. Note that in 2022, the largest investments in AI were made in the field of medicine and health, with $6.1 billion.
