Half of French people fond of streaming

More and more of our compatriots are spending time in front of the most popular video streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+.

According to a study by Kantar Media conducted last October among 15,000 French people aged 15 and over, 47% of our fellow citizens used an SVOD service in 2022, while this figure was only 9% in 2018. Netflix is the most used platform, even if its progression is not as strong as that of Prime Video.

Disney attracts more smartphones, so young people

The three big services are seeing double-digit usage growth for the past three months, Netflix jumping from 23% to 35% and Disney+ from 1% to 11%. But as said above, Prime Video is the fastest going from 7% to 22%. The study reveals several details, such as the preferred use of the smartphone to watch Disney + (in turmoil lately): 34%, compared to 28% for Prime Video and 26% for Netflix.
