Apple iPhone Air 2: even thinner and with a bigger battery?

Expected for spring 2027, the iPhone Air 2 continues to fuel the rumor mill, this time with details about its thinness. While the first model was already breaking records in this area, its successor could become a few tenths of a millimeter thinner.

Concretely, we are talking about a thickness of 5.2 mm instead of 5.6 mm on the original model. That is 0.4 mm less for the iPhone Air 2 expected in spring 2027. That is in any case what the Korean “leaker” yeux1122 reveals, adding that this model will also have a larger battery capacity, corroborating previous rumors on the subject.

3,500 mAh battery and second camera sensor

These rumors indeed hinted at a 3,500 mAh battery, which is beyond the capacity of the first model, which has 3,149 mAh, 11% more to be more precise. In addition, the device should also include a second camera sensor, correcting another shortcoming of the first iPhone Air.

A rumor that defies physics

All this with a thickness equal to that of the unfolded iPhone Duo... We have a hard time believing it because all these components inevitably take up space, and 0.4 mm less, after all, that is quite a bit of volume disappearing for such a miniaturized technology. In any case, if all these rumors prove true, the iPhone Air 2 is likely to make a strong impression once again.

Availability of the Apple iPhone Air 2 is anticipated for spring 2027. Its indicative price is for the moment unknown.
