Good news, the LG OLED77M3 TV will finally feature a third generation Meta Oled LG Display panel (see our CES 23 news > LG Display Oled Meta, 2,100 nits for these 3rd generation panels). As a reminder, this implements MLA (Micro Lenses Array) technology and the Meta Booster function (as such, the terms Evo and Brightness Booster Max should always be used within LG Electronics 2023 Oled TVs to qualify these new slabs).
TV Oled LG M3, several confirmed models
This model should therefore offer a brightness similar to the LG OLED77G3, identical to the LG OLED77M3 module the remote multimedia box (on the left in the photo below), and therefore greater than the other LG M3 references. This information confirms at the same time that the LG M3 series is not only made up of the single 97'' reference mentioned by LG in its press release and presented on its stand (see photo below). As a reminder, the LG M3 TV series will therefore have three references, the LG OLED77M3 (196 cm), LG OLED83M3 (211 cm) and LG OLED97M3 (246 cm).
Oled LG M-series TV series, originally scheduled for CES in Las Vegas 2021
Namely, the Oled LG M1 TV series was initially planned for the 2021 range and was supposed to create a buzz in the gaming capital, but LG Electronics had logically decided to postpone it, the 2021 edition of CES having been canceled for cause. of Covid-19. No Oled LG M2 TV series in 2022 either. The CES show in Las Vegas being held again in the midst of a health crisis due to the Omicron variant, it was likely to be canceled until the last moment, resulting in a symbolic presence of many brands with stands reduced to the strict minimum or even deserted. TV Oled LG M3, LG G3 models without MLA panel
In short, the Oled LG M3 TV series is neither more nor less than an LG G3 series sporting exactly the same design but with a remote wireless box (the black box present in the photos below and below) grouping together all the connectors and part of the electronics. This configuration is referred to by LG as Zero Connect technology.
