Record first quarter for Apple

Big iPhone contribution to Apple's latest results, with the company's best first quarter ever.

Apple recently released its financial results for the first quarter of 2022, with $97.3 billion in revenue and $25 billion in net profit. For comparison, these figures for the same period last year were 89.6 and 23.6 billion respectively. These are the best results ever achieved by Apple for a first quarter.

The word to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple

"Record results this quarter are a testament to Apple's relentless focus on innovation and our ability to create the best products and services in the world," said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. We are delighted to see strong customer response to our new products, as well as the progress we are making towards achieving carbon neutrality across our supply chain by 2030.”

Note that the iPhone contributed the majority (52%) to Apple's revenue this quarter, followed by services with 20.4%.
