Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie, more details about Dogfight

Director Guy Ritchie and actor Jason Statham are preparing to collaborate once again, this time for Dogfight. It would be an action and revenge film with a style described as "particularly polished", intended for Netflix. Should we understand that Statham's previous films with Ritchie were not? Or that Netflix's level of demands for its in-house productions has suddenly increased without anyone noticing? Now that's enticing!

As for the setting of this new adventure, it too stands out for an originality that will no doubt be handled with particular care.

London calling

Set in the underworld of organized crime in London, the film is expected to begin shooting in the UK in early 2027. Guy Ritchie will handle the writing, directing and production, while Jason Statham will play the lead role. Details of the plot remain confidential for the time being.

The project will be produced by Black Bear Pictures, Toff Guy Films, Guy Ritchie’s company, and Punch Palace Productions, Jason Statham’s. The two men will also serve as producers alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg.

Ritchie or the good life

It was Guy Ritchie who gave Jason Statham his first film role in 1998 in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Their collaboration then continued with Snatch, Revolver, Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.

A far-fetched plot?

Dogfight will thus mark their seventh collaboration. The sixth, the action thriller Viva La Madness, finished shooting earlier this year. Black Bear will distribute it in North America, while Amazon MGM Studios holds the rights for international territories.

Now only one question remains, even hotter than the plot details: Jason Statham, reportedly fresh from a hair transplant, will he for the first time on screen sport his new mane? Betting is open.
