Magnetar UDP900MKII and UDP800MKII: the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray universal players earn THX certification

Already considered two of the most accomplished universal players on the market, the Magnetar UDP900MKII and UDP800MKII (cf. our Magnetar UDP800MKII and UDP900MKII news item, the best get even better...) now bear the prestigious THX Certified label. Officially launched from Temecula, California, this distinction comes after a series of rigorous evaluations conducted by [abc]THX[/abc] engineers. As a reminder, this certification simply attests on the test bench that the hardware architecture used in the MKII series applies no coloration or degradation to the source signal.

Magnetar MKII Series: physical media and high resolution in the spotlight As a reminder, the MKII series players were designed from the outset to support almost all physical and digital formats on the market, from 4K [abc]Ultra HD Blu-Ray[/abc], [abc]Blu-Ray[/abc] and [abc]SACD[/abc] discs to file-based content stored locally or shared over a home network. Developed with direct input from integrators, specialist retailers, and enthusiasts, the UDP800MKII and UDP900MKII are based on a simple credo: physical discs and high-resolution files always deserve dedicated electronics without compromise.

Words from Rob Jones, president of Magnetar North America “THX certification is an essential independent validation that enthusiasts and integrators seek when designing reference systems,” says Rob Jones, president of Magnetar North America. “We are proud to see our two MKII models obtain this approval. It reflects the engineering work and the feedback from customers and dealers that directly informed the creation of the MKII series. It offers users additional assurance that these players will deliver the expected performance, whether in a dedicated Home Cinema room or in a living room.”

Words from Steven P. Martz, vice president of global technology partnerships at THX Ltd. For his part, Steven P. Martz, vice president of global technology partnerships at THX Ltd., explains: “Magnetar is a major player in disc playback, and the UDP900MKII and UDP800MKII have earned THX certification after our extensive testing and evaluations in THX laboratories. These media players are designed for those who deeply care about seeing and hearing works exactly as their creators envisioned them, which is the founding mission of the THX certification program. We look forward to continuing our work and collaboration with Magnetar.”
