Unveiled at the start of the year at the CES trade show in Las Vegas, the LG Sound Suite wireless audio system is getting a major update. On the menu: DTS:X compatibility, simultaneous support for two subwoofers, and the arrival of the Chromecast (integrated) Cast feature to make life easier for users of this modular solution.
Introduced at CES 2026 (see our CES 26 news > LG Sound Suite 13.1.7 Dolby Atmos Flex Connect: revolutionary soundbar), the LG Sound Suite package had made a strong impression by positioning itself as the very first audio ecosystem built around [abc]Dolby Atmos Flex Connect[/abc] technology. Today, the Korean company is seriously stepping up its game with a major software update aimed at boosting the flexibility of its Home Cinema setup.
LG Sound Suite, DTS:X compatibility for the H7 soundbar
This is the big new feature of this announcement: LG is no longer content with Dolby processing and is finally opening the door to the direct competitor. The main LG H7 soundbar now includes full support for the [abc]DTS:X[/abc] format. Excellent news for fans of immersive 3D sound, who will no longer have to do without many audio tracks on [abc]Blu-Ray[/abc] and [abc]4K[/abc] [abc]Ultra HD Blu-Ray[/abc] discs. Note that the manufacturer specifies that it is also working on an additional box, the “LG Media Connect Hub,” intended to make it easier to manage these high-resolution audio streams from external sources.
LG Sound Suite, two W7 subwoofers are better than one
LG is also thinking of larger listening rooms by now allowing the pairing of two LG W7 wireless subwoofers in the same Sound Suite setup. The goal is not only to make the walls shake, but above all to make bass reproduction more uniform throughout the room, thereby limiting acoustic “dead spots” depending on where listeners are seated on the sofa. On the networking side, the system also gains robustness with support for Wi-Fi 6 GHz (Wi-Fi 6E) networks and 5 GHz DFS channels, drastically reducing the risk of interference.
LG Sound Suite, arrival of Google Cast
Finally, the user experience gains in ergonomics with the native integration of the Google Cast protocol ([abc]Chromecast (intégré)[/abc]) on the H7 soundbar. While it was already easy to “stream” music via [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] or [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc], this new feature greatly simplifies controlling the system from a smartphone, offering direct and high-quality access to [abc]streaming[/abc] audio or podcast apps.
Availability and indicative price of the LG Sound Suite are still unknown (end of the year or 2027).
