Why Jordan Peele's next film is crucial for him and his fans

Jordan Peele's fourth film has had its share of setbacks and delays. But the director of Get Out, Us, and Nope finally seems to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Filming for this new feature film was initially scheduled to begin in the summer of 2023, before the schedule was disrupted and the project was repeatedly postponed. It quickly became apparent that Peele was struggling to find the right idea, one capable of justifying his return behind the camera. Other scripts were developed in 2024 and 2025, before also being abandoned, with the filmmaker, according to several rumors, starting from scratch. Three years later, he now seems to have found the right formula. Matt Belloni, from the media outlet Puck, reports that Jordan Peele has finally settled on a script, although we will have to wait a few more months before any casting or release date announcements. A "Peele hairy" release? This is nonetheless the first real good news about the film in years. Peele's company, Monkeypaw Productions, has remained active in recent years, but after last year's sports horror film, Him, no other feature film has yet received the green light. Peele recently had his multi-film deal with Universal reduced, even though it still runs until 2030. Needless to say, this fourth film is now anticipated as a crucial project, not only by the studio but also by Peele himself and, of course, by his fans.
