Samsung TV 2026: Micro RGB, OLED, anti-glare and AI for the World Cup

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off, Samsung is showcasing its latest innovations and a prestigious partnership to dominate living rooms. The South Korean manufacturer, celebrating 20 years of global leadership in the TV market alongside legend Thierry Henry, is presenting its new range of Micro RGB and OLED Glare Free screens. By combining AI-powered processors for seamless fluidity, a wide selection of large screen sizes, and the innovative Vision AI Companion portal, the global leader offers the ideal setup for experiencing matches like a VIP.
Like all previous editions, the 2026 FIFA World Cup ticks all the boxes for the perfect time to upgrade your television. To fully experience the excitement of the Mexican, Canadian, and American stadiums, now is the time to choose a larger screen and next-generation picture processing. Facing the world's biggest sporting event, Samsung, the undisputed leader in the TV market for the past twenty years, is ready and intends to play a major role, both technically and commercially. To make a lasting impression and celebrate this historic anniversary, the brand has partnered with international football icon Thierry Henry, the face of a massive pan-European campaign celebrating the unifying power of its screens (see photo above). Although the Korean company is not the official TV sponsor of the event, the South Korean giant has particularly honed its technological capabilities within its 2026 TV range. Football remains one of the most demanding types of content to broadcast: the speed of the ball, the rapid lateral movements across the pitch, and the multitude of background details put video processors to the test. AI Football Mode Pro: the stadium à la carte. A major new feature of the 2026 TVs, coinciding with the Football World Cup, AI Football Mode Pro activates automatically as soon as a match begins (provided that Intelligent Mode has been left enabled in the TV settings). While the AI instantly optimizes the shades of green on the pitch and the visual dynamics, it is in sound management that it truly excels. Users can now customize the sound environment to their liking. With a simple command, it's possible to isolate and boost the commentator's voice to ensure you don't miss any technical analysis, or conversely, to completely disable the commentary to retain only the sound of the crowd and the chants of the fans. The immersion becomes total, just like being in the VIP section. Fluidity and computing power: AI processing versus compressed streams. To definitively eliminate stuttering and motion blur during shots, crosses, or runs down the wing, Samsung deploys two complementary technologies. Firstly, the Motion Xcelerator motion compensation process inserts intermediate frames ultra-fast to guarantee perfect fluidity, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz to eradicate any ghosting effect. AI Motion Enhancer Pro technology, based on a Deep Learning algorithm, specifically detects and processes moving objects that tend to become blurry when motion compensation is applied—the football on screen during this World Cup season. This ensures the ball remains perfectly sharp and spherical, even during the most powerful clearances. However, smoothness isn't everything, especially if you're watching matches via an ISP's internet box, which is subject to heavy digital compression that degrades the image. This is where Samsung's high-end chips work wonders. The innovative NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor in OLED TVs, which we saw in action, cleans up the image on the fly, enhances the textures of the pitch, and eliminates compression artifacts for a near-native 4K rendering. Meanwhile, the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro processor in Micro RGB TVs enhances colors, deepens contrasts, and sculpts details to magnify the image's dynamism and depth. A quick tip: if you don't have access to the OTT channel Canal Événement 4K (in HDR10), opt for terrestrial television (TNT) reception if possible. Not only is the raw image quality far superior to that of internet boxes, but the latency is also minimal. This is the absolute guarantee of not being "spoiled" by your neighbors' cheers about a goal before the action has even happened on your screen. Micro RGB Technology: Samsung's Response to RGB Mini LED In the premium LCD TV segment, Chinese manufacturers have been very vocal over the past 18 months with the spotlight on RGB Mini LED technology. Samsung quickly responded with the introduction of Micro RGB. By using smaller LEDs for its backlighting system, Samsung claims less blooming and greater pixel-perfect control of light, guaranteeing exceptional contrast and unprecedentedly deep blacks for an LCD screen, while maintaining extraordinary peak brightness to make stadium floodlights sparkle. Note that the R95H series also features Glare Free coating (see below) to eliminate screen reflections, guaranteeing complete immersion in the heart of goal-scoring action, further enhanced by the particularly impressive screen sizes with no fewer than four large diagonals: 65", 75", 85", and even a gigantic 115 inches.

Samsung OLED TV 2026 Range: Record selection and the trump card of Glare Free against sunlight. Alongside its Micro RGB series, Samsung is strengthening its OLED offering in France with a record-breaking range. The brand is launching no fewer than four distinct series to meet all needs: S85H, S92H, S95H, and S99H. Within this collection, the S92H series stands out as a future best-seller with a particularly attractive price-performance ratio. Its strength? Besides The aforementioned NQ4 AI Gen 3 chip incorporates the high-end Glare Free treatment. This extremely effective anti-reflective coating, featured on several of the brand's flagship OLED (S92H, S95H, and S99H) and Micro RGB (R95H) series, will prove crucial for the 2026 World Cup. Indeed, due to the time difference, several matches, including some knockout games, will take place in the late afternoon, French time. This is precisely when the low sun directly hits living room windows and ruins the visibility of bright scenes (very common on a football pitch). The Glare Free filter absorbs ambient light pollution and eliminates unwanted reflections without compromising color accuracy or the OLED's infinite contrast. No need to close the curtains and shut yourself in the dark in the middle of summer to support the French team: the spectacle remains complete, even in very bright room.

Vision AI Companion: the co-pilot for your football nights Beyond pure display quality, Samsung is transforming television use in 2026 with its Vision AI Companion (VAC) portal. This new ecosystem, presented at the end of 2025 (see our news article Samsung Vision AI Companion: the TV is becoming truly intelligent), is establishing itself as the ideal command center for your World Cup evenings. Its AI Mode (after initial setup according to your preferences) automatically configures the best picture and sound settings depending on the match or program being watched. The in-house voice assistant Bixby, now powered by Gemini, allows you to control everything by voice: a practical function for requesting a player's schedule or stats at halftime, for example. This portal also provides direct access to two third-party conversational AIs: Perplexity for text queries and Microsoft Copilot for voice commands. the language of your choice. Finally, for enthusiasts following foreign interviews via terrestrial television, satellite, or the free Samsung TV Plus app, the Live Translate function provides instant translation of subtitles in 12 languages.

Finally, to truly transform your living room into a stadium, nothing beats an XXL screen. On this point, Samsung is also making a strong statement this year by multiplying its very large screen sizes: if we consider the OLED (S92H, S95H, S99H) and Micro RGB (R95H) series equipped with the famous Glare Free filter, there are no fewer than eight models ranging from 75" to 115" (77" and 83" for OLED). Enough to immerse yourself, once again, in the heart of the scoring opportunities.
