Bourne to be alive!

As he prepares to embark on the promotional tour for The Odyssey, actor and producer Matt Damon has revealed that he is ready to reprise the role of Jason Bourne, the amnesiac former CIA agent, for a new installment in the franchise.
In a recent interview with Parade magazine, Damon even indicated that he remains open to proposals: "We're always looking to make another one, because we loved those films, everyone who worked on them. So there's always an ongoing attempt to write something, to find a new story. So if you have an idea, let us know." The rights to Robert Ludlum's original novel, The Bourne Identity, held by Universal Pictures and the origin of the famous franchise, were put up for sale last year before returning to Universal. Frank Marshall, ever faithful to his role, will produce the film. Jason Bourne, the most profitable spy franchise after James Bond. The director of Conclave, Edward Berger, has been attached to direct this next installment for several years now. About a year ago, he stated that he would still be on board if Damon wanted to return. At the time, Joe Barton, showrunner of Black Doves, was working on the script. The franchise has grossed a total of $1.64 billion at the worldwide box office and is generally considered the most profitable spy saga after James Bond. Suffice it to say, everyone—except perhaps the public if the franchise falters—has an interest in seeing Jason Bourne return to the screen. Provided, of course, that the future writers recapture the raw energy of the first film and the momentum of the second to launch a final Bourne mission worthy of the name. To be continued.
