MMA on Netflix, victory by decision

Huge audience figures for the very first MMA (mixed martial arts) card on Netflix, with victories for both French fighters, Francis Ngannou and Salahdine Parnasse.
On May 16th, Netflix hosted its very first live MMA event, spearheaded by promoter/YouTuber/fighter Jake Paul, thus entering into direct competition with the long-established UFC. France wins at Jake Paul's MMA event. According to Jake Paul's organizing company, MVP, the event drew an average of 12.4 million viewers worldwide, peaking at 17 million during the main event in which Ronda Rousey submitted Gina Carano in… 17 seconds. MVP claims it was the most-watched MMA event of all time, and while some may lament that most of the fights featured "retired" fighters, the presence—and victory!—of two Frenchmen, Francis Ngannou and Salahdine Parnasse, is certainly noteworthy.
