TCL P79L QLED TV: six Ultra HD 4K displays from 43" to 85"

Continuing our review of the TCL 2026 TV range, following the TCL C6K Pro, TCL C7L, TCL C8L, TCL RM9L, and TCL X11L Mini LED TV series, and the entry-level TCL P6L Ultra HD 4K series, we now focus on the Chinese manufacturer's P79L QLED series, also known as the P7L.
As you can see from the photos below, these televisions display a premium design, notably thanks to an elegant and thin metal bar at the bottom and an extremely discreet LCD panel frame to give pride of place to the image. And for the stand, it is double-sided on all diagonals. The TCL P79L series includes six Ultra HD 4K models: the TCL 43P79L (43", 109 cm), TCL 50P79L (50", 127 cm), TCL 55P79L (55", 140 cm), TCL 65P79L (65", 165 cm), TCL 75P79L (75", 191 cm), and TCL 85P79L (85", 216 cm). TCL P79L, Main Specifications Ultra HD 4K Models The TCL P79L TVs feature a Direct LED Global Dimming backlighting system. Quantum Dot (nanocrystal) technology is also included, covering 65% of the Rec/2020 color gamut thanks to nanocrystals made from a unique alloy, offering a more pronounced light response. This is combined with a native 60Hz 10-bit HVA LCD panel and AiPQ Engine video processing. A refresh rate of up to 144Hz is achieved in 1080p for a smoother and more enjoyable gaming experience. This will surely delight owners of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or high-end gaming PCs. In terms of technical specifications, the TCL P79L TVs boast a peak brightness of 400 nits, except for the 85" model which reaches 450 nits. Logically, one of the three HDMI connectors is HDMI 2.1 for handling 4K/120 HFR (except on the 43" and 50" models), eARC, and ALLM. VRR compatibility (from 48 Hz to 144 Hz, except on the 43" and 50" models) is also included. Regarding HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, HDR HLG, and Dolby Vision HDR technologies are supported. Other features include 120 Hz MEMC motion compensation, an anti-reflective coating, and a blue light reduction mode. Plus, there's a Game mode with an input lag of 12 ms, approximately. TCL P79L, 2.0 or 2.1 sound system up to 40 W. Delivers 20 W in 2.0 configuration (2 x 10 W) for 43" to 75" models, and 40 W in 2.1 configuration (2 x 10 W + 20 W) on the TCL 85P79L. DTS:X, DTS Virtual:X, and Dolby Atmos compatibility are included. TCL P79L, Smart Google TV, and comprehensive connectivity. TCL P79L TVs feature Smart Google TV (Android 12). For connectivity, It features Wi-Fi 5 in addition to Bluetooth 5.4. Connectivity includes, as previously mentioned, three HDMI ports (one 2.1 and two 2.0) certified HDCP 2.2. Also present are an optical output, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an Ethernet port, and a CI+ slot. Availability is expected in June: €429 for the TCL 43P79L, €549 for the TCL 50P79L, €649 for the TCL 55P79L, €799 for the TCL 65P79L, €999 for the TCL 75P79L, and €1,399 for the TCL 85P79L.
