XGIMI unveils the Elfin Flip 4K, an ultra-compact 4K Ultra HD projector featuring a rotating gimbal, a rare optical zoom in its class, and a high-end Nichia RGB laser light source capable of delivering 1,600 lumens. A more affordable version, the Elfin Flip Laser, is also announced.
Xgimi is definitely pulling out all the stops. After the presentation at CES in Las Vegas of the Titan Noir series (see our CES 26 news > Xgimi Titan Noir Max, a professional projector with cinematic capabilities), featuring the Noir and Max models, which are currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign, the Chinese manufacturer is using the same approach to announce the Elfin Flip 4K and Elfin Flip Laser. It should be noted that while numerous technical specifications are presented for the Elfin Flip 4K, the Elfin Flip Laser is announced as a simplified version without further details at the time of writing. Xgimi Elfin Flip 4K: Ultra HD, Optical Zoom, and Compact Design; With the Elfin Flip 4K, a major evolution of its predecessor, the 1080p Elfin Flip, Xgimi aims to offer a truly versatile 4K Ultra HD projector, capable of integrating into any interior without complex installation. Its tablet-like form factor, light weight of 1.55 kg, and 150° rotating gimbal allow for wall or ceiling projection without a tripod, while its 0.98-1.3:1 optical zoom offers image adjustment without loss of definition. A distance of 2.17 meters is sufficient to obtain a 100-inch diagonal (maximum possible size of 120"), allowing for a very large image accessible even in small spaces. Xgimi Elfin Flip 4K: Nichia RGB laser and bright 4K image. The projector therefore adopts a latest-generation RGB laser light source from Nichia (the largest Japanese manufacturer of LEDs and lasers, inventor of the blue LED), offering 1,600 lumens, a contrast ratio of 20,000:1, and very wide color gamut coverage, 99% of DCI-P3 (and 110% relative color volume). It also features a 0.39" (approximately 1 cm) DLP matrix. The DeltaE value of < 1 ensures faithful rendering, with saturated colors and preserved readability even in bright daylight. The goal is to offer a cinematic experience without the constraints of darkness. HDR10 compatibility is included. Xgimi Elfin Flip 4K: Automatic Setup and Effortless Projection. The Elfin Flip 4K, via ISA 5.0 technology, integrates a complete set of automatic features: autofocus, keystone correction, obstacle detection, automatic screen size adjustment, and color compensation based on the hue of the projection surface, such as a wall or partition, in the absence of a screen. The projector can thus be set up in seconds, without manual adjustment, even in a less-than-optimal room. Xgimi Elfin Flip 4K, a responsive gaming mode; Xgimi hasn't forgotten gamers with a dedicated mode, a 1ms response time in 1080p at 120Hz, VRR and ALLM compatibility, as well as dynamic dark area enhancement for better visibility in dimly lit scenes. Xgimi Elfin Flip 4K with integrated Harman Kardon audio and Google TV; The projector features Harman Kardon speakers compatible with Dolby Audio and Dolby Digital Plus for a maximum power of 7 watts. Google TV is integrated, providing direct access to Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and other streaming services without an external box. Connectivity includes two HDMI ports (one with eARC), two USB-A ports, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6 compatibility. The device requires mains power, as it does not have a built-in battery. Xgimi Elfin Flip 4K: A more accessible version with the Elfin Flip Laser. In parallel, Xgimi announces the Elfin Flip Laser, a lighter and simpler version designed to offer a bright and compact experience at a more affordable price. Aside from the lack of optical zoom, the manufacturer has not yet detailed its specifications but positions it as a more accessible alternative to the 4K model. Availability: September 2026.
