$1,000 for the PS6 and Xbox Helix?

Corroborating previous rumors regarding the price of the next consoles, many analysts believe that the next generation of home consoles, with the Xbox Helix and PS6, will enter the luxury market, with prices never before seen. Joost van Dreunen, co-founder of the analysis firm SuperData Research, explains: "We are rapidly heading towards a world where a $1,000 console (nearly €900) will become the norm, and where console gaming will become a luxury expense." “I think a price of at least $999 for one of the PS6 versions isn't impossible,” adds Dr. Serkan Toto, CEO of the Japanese video game consulting firm Kantan Games. Xbox and PlayStation consoles, the price increase is already here… This estimate is supported by recent price hikes, with the PS5 and PS5 Pro increasing by €100 in early April 2026, and the Xbox Series X/S by €50 last year. The cause is the increase in memory chip prices, as well as the economic war waged by the US against the rest of the world since Trump came to power.
