Is Apple immune to "RAMmageddon"?

Despite the current rise in memory chip prices, Apple is cashing in and not passing the cost on to the consumer. But for how long?
AI giants are buying up all the RAM processors, essential components for their data centers, causing a shortage that is impacting consumer tech companies and driving up the price of electronic devices. Apple, for now, seems unaffected by the rising price of RAM… A “RAMmageddon” that has been unfolding since the end of 2025, and which is even affecting the release dates of must-have products like the PlayStation 6. Yet, Apple has recently shown apparent resistance to this price apocalypse, with the launch of consumer devices like the iPhone 17e and the iPad Air. Apple seems to be sending a message: we won't pass on the rising costs behind the scenes to the public. This is a position the American giant can afford given the prices of its products and the war chest it has accumulated in recent years. It remains to be seen how long this position can be maintained, knowing that the crisis is far from over. And that Apple still has many products to release this year, and in the years to come…
