Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold, how many folds will it survive?

When Samsung claims its latest smartphone can withstand up to 200,000 folds, there are always some clever people ready to test it.
Available in a few regions of the world but not yet in our country, the new Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold smartphone is unique in that it features a screen that folds on two axes along two hinges. According to Samsung, the device can withstand 200,000 folds and unfolds, or about five years of normal use. Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold: 200,000 folds, really? That's less than the 500,000 folds of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but it's worth remembering that the Trifold is only a first-generation product. This, of course, hasn't stopped some clever individuals from testing the manufacturer's claims and having fun folding and unfolding the smartphone until it broke. The troublemakers at the Korean YouTube channel Omokgyo Electronics Market took on the task, taking turns bending and unbending the two hinges throughout a ten-day live stream. It took 61,000 bends for one of the hinges to start making a strange noise, and 121,000 for the second. Finally, after 144,000 attempts, the hinges gave way. This is therefore below the figure announced by Samsung, although, admittedly, the test conditions are not comparable to "normal" use.
