Capcom and Legendary Pictures have just released the first teaser for the new film adaptation of the legendary Street Fighter video game saga. And in terms of wacky and intriguing content, we could hardly have hoped for better.
The Street Fighter movie will be released in theaters on October 16, 2026, making it the latest adaptation of the eponymous video game saga. We already knew the film was shot in IMAX, but the tone and aesthetics raised many questions. A few answers are provided by this "Sneak Peek" teaser, which reveals a deliberate and seemingly unrestrained taste for tongue-in-cheek humor and comedic action with appropriately loud sound effects. As a reminder, the story takes place in 1993, when Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are drawn back into the fight when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the upcoming World Warrior tournament: a brutal clash of fists, destiny, and fury. But behind this battle lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to confront each other, as well as their demons from the past. And if they don't, it's game over.
