CES 24 > JBL Clip 5, waterproof Auracast Bluetooth speaker to move everywhere all the time

For the CES show in Las Vegas 2024 which opens tomorrow, JBL is developing its Clip portable speaker, in a very compact format, with a fifth version.

The JBL Clip 5, 2024 model year, has a battery life of around twelve hours (3 hours are required for a full recharge via USB-C port) and IP67 certification for water and dust tightness .

JBL Clip 5, oval shape and optimized carabiner

One of the main developments of the latest Clip concerns its battery, now replaceable, and its manufacturing, ensured thanks to 70% recycled plastic, 80% for the fabric of the speaker grilles.

For the rest, the JBL Clip 5 is still oval in shape and its carabiner, revisited to offer a larger opening, makes it even easier to clip. Wireless streaming is ensured by Bluetooth 5.3 LE Auracast compatibility to enjoy musical content stored on a suitable mobile device (smartphone, tablet, computer, portable game console, etc.). Namely, the Auracast function allows easy stereo or multiroom/multi-speaker pairing and almost unlimited number. Thus, it is possible to combine two JBL Clip 5 speakers, and more generally two Party Boost compatible JBL speakers to create a stereo audio system. Or even bring several together to increase the sound volume tenfold.

JBL Clip 5, specifications

Technically, we don't yet know everything about the JBL Clip 5 but its creator specifies that the power of its improving speaker allows for a more balanced sound and noticeably more present bass. And its dual-layer injection-molded housing allows it to withstand shock, even when it's subjected to harsh tests in the bottom of your bag for example.
