Texas Chainsaw Massacre coming soon in 4K CUC (Ultra Collector Box by Carlotta)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 4K Ultra HD Ultra Collector's Box? Carlotta does. A premiere for Tobe Hopper's 1974 film.

Fifty years after its theatrical release in the United States (which earned it the R-Restricted rating, prohibited for those under 17), Tobe Hooper's cult masterpiece, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, returns for the first time in France in a 4K UHD version within the Ultra Collector Box (CUC) #25 from the French publisher Carlotta x TF1 Studio.

Second good news, the 4K release of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will also be accompanied in the box set by a reissue of Jean-Baptiste Thoret's book, An American Experience of Chaos, which has not been found for a while.

Restored in 4K under the supervision of Tobe Hopper

While waiting for more information on the content and the image and sound labels (HDR Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos?), we remind you that Hooper's film shot in 16 mm for a low budget, known for its coarse grain and its grimy atmosphere, takes place in Texas, where a group of young people traveling through the area run out of gas and stop in an old abandoned house. It doesn't take long for them to meet the inhabitants of the adjoining house... and to live an experience on the borders of the intelligible.

Already restored in 4K ten years ago under the supervision of the filmmaker himself for a Blu-Ray Collector's edition released at the time by TF1 Vidéo, the film should be here accompanied by precious bonuses, including new supplements, or so we hope. Release date still unknown. To be continued.
