Netflix: logo in stop-motion, and in… wool (video)

If you thought you knew by heart the famous animation of the Netflix logo accompanied by the famous "Toudum", here is a surprising new version.

Passionate about stop motion - i.e. stop motion animation with real objects like The Nightmare Before Christmas - Kevin Parry got it into his head to recreate the animation of the Netflix logo with this technique.

Netflix Homemade Logo

And for the choice of material, the artist opted for colored woolen threads, a very wise choice when you see the final result. Parry detailed the steps of his project in the video below, from the study of the original logo to the shooting, including sketches of preparation, the construction of the "studio" and the various wool elements. Very interesting, but if you're in a hurry, the end result can be admired from timecode 5:25.
