iPhone XX, are the buttons gone?

To reinforce the "glass plate" look of next year's anniversary iPhone, Apple could eliminate its buttons and replace them with touch-sensitive surfaces.
The 10th anniversary of the iPhone in 2017 was marked by notable innovations on the iPhone X model, including the edge-to-edge OLED screen and the disappearance of the Home button in favor of a larger screen, not to mention Face ID facial recognition. Apple also wants to make a splash in 2027 for the 20th anniversary of its flagship product, which was originally slated to be called the iPhone 19, but will almost certainly be called the iPhone XX, knowing Apple. A "glass plate" design for the iPhone's 20th anniversary: We've been talking about it for a while now; this device would have a screen wrapping around all four sides of the smartphone, for a "glass plate" effect—a seemingly limitless screen that seamlessly extends onto all four sides of the smartphone. Touch surfaces to replace physical buttons: And for an even smoother look, Apple reportedly wants to eliminate buttons, replacing them with invisible "touch" surfaces, similar to the Home button on the iPhone 7 and 8. This is something that rumors already suggested a few years ago for the iPhone 15 Pro, but which ultimately didn't materialize. The iPhone XX would therefore be the perfect opportunity to introduce this technology, if we are to believe the latest information revealed by the Chinese "leaker" Instant Digital. Capacitive buttons tested under extreme conditions. These buttons have reportedly already undergone several tests, including use with gloves or wet hands, as well as in extreme temperatures, and even when the device is protected by a case. Furthermore, an ultra-low-power microprocessor will allow the buttons to remain active even when the device is turned off, since they will no longer be mechanical but electrical.
