CES 26 > LG Sound Suite 13.1.7 Dolby Flex Connect: Revolutionary Soundbar

LG is preparing a major move in the soundbar market with its Sound Suite concept, a modular sound solution based on a soundbar presented as the world's first to utilize Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology.
With the LG Sound Suite system, the Korean manufacturer aims to break with the more or less "fixed" soundbar configuration by offering a scalable setup capable of adapting to the room and the user's needs. To be clear, the vast majority of the rest of LG's soundbar range for 2026 will be LG Sound Suite, LG H7 soundbar. At the heart of the LG Sound Suite system is the new LG H7 soundbar, a model equipped with 20 speakers, no less: three full-range drivers directed towards the ceiling, four woofers supported by eight passive radiators on top, two full-range drivers on the sides, plus three front full-range drivers dedicated to the left, center, and right front channels. As you can see, the idea is to offer a highly immersive sound experience with just a soundbar, without immediately needing a subwoofer or rear speakers. LG Sound Suite, LG M5 and LG M7 surround speakers. And this is where the LG Sound Suite concept comes in. It's based on complete modularity: the user creates their own custom audio setup according to their budget and room layout. Indeed, up to four LG M5 or LG M7 wireless rear speakers can be added to the LG H7 to create a true surround sound system, as well as a W7 wireless subwoofer to enhance the bass frequencies. The acoustic package of the compact LG M5 speakers includes a silk dome tweeter, a woofer, and an up-firing driver on the top, while the larger LG M7 speakers feature two full-range drivers and a woofer on the front, along with an up-firing module. LG Sound Suite, LG W7 subwoofer. Finally, the LG W7 subwoofer stands out with its unusual design: it sports a square shape with rounded corners, allowing it to be positioned vertically or horizontally depending on the available space. Inside, you'll find an 8" (20.32 cm) Peerless driver, a 22-liter cabinet volume, and the ability to reach down to 25.9 Hz—the lowest frequency response ever claimed for a subwoofer bundled with an LG soundbar. Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: The Key to LG Sound Suite Flexibility. The LG Sound Suite's major strength lies in its use of Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. This technology automatically calibrates each wireless speaker, regardless of its actual position in the room, to create a coherent soundstage. In practice, the speakers and subwoofer can be placed almost anywhere (on a side table, a shelf, in a corner, etc.) without compromising the immersive sound experience. The LG Sound Suite thus positions itself as one of the most adaptable systems for the constraints of our living rooms, where "traditional" audio systems... require a much stricter arrangement of its various components. Another strong point of the LG Sound Suite is its dynamic "Sweet Spot" audio tracking. This means that no matter where the listener is positioned in their living room, they can enjoy the best possible sound experience. More details to follow. LG Sound Suite, a total of 27 audio combinations. In terms of configuration, the possible combinations are numerous. LG cites, for example, an H7 soundbar + two M5 speakers + a W7 subwoofer for a 7.1.5 system, or an H7 + two M7s + a W7 for a 9.1.5 setup, or even an H7 paired with four M7s and a W7 for an impressive 13.1.7 channel installation, surpassing even the best soundbars. Another important point to know is that the M5s and M7s can also function as standalone wireless speakers, individually, as a pair for a stereo system (2.0), or as a quartet. (4.0) multichannel for music listening, independent of the H7 (the various LG Sound Suite components are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth compatible). LG specifies that 27 combinations are possible in total. LG Sound Suite: Alpha 11 processor inside. To orchestrate everything, the LG Sound Suite pack relies on an enhanced version of its new, super-powerful Alpha 11 AI Gen3 chip within the LG H7 soundbar. It should be noted that this is the first time a TV processor has debuted in a soundbar from the brand. On this occasion, AI Sound Pro+ features exclusive to the LG Sound Suite make their appearance: a Deep Learning AI module is now capable of isolating different elements of the sound mix to remaster them and optimize intelligibility or the surround effect. A multichannel upmixer transforms For example, a stereo signal in immersive rendering up to 7.1.4, while automatic recognition identifies the nature of the content (movie, sports, music, games, etc.) in order to adapt the system's sound processing. Dolby Atmos FlexConnect built into LG 2026 TVs and some 2025 models. Specifically, the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect process will also be integrated into LG 2026 TVs, and even some 2025 models via an upcoming firmware update. It will thus be possible to connect LG M5/M7 speakers directly to these televisions, without using the H7 soundbar. Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology will then balance all the internal and external speakers to recreate an immersive sound bubble. This is a welcome approach when wall-mounting the television, where adding a soundbar is not always desired. Lee Jeong-seok, Head of Audio at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, says: “With Dolby, we’re bringing audio flexibility to every home. By integrating Dolby Atmos FlexConnect with the modular wireless design of LG Sound Suite and our AI-driven calibration, consumers can personalize their setup and enjoy cinematic sound from any seat.” John Couling, Senior Vice President of Entertainment at Dolby Laboratories, says: “Dolby and LG are delivering a new level of audio flexibility to anyone who wants to experience better sound with Dolby Atmos. Whether your speakers are on a shelf or tucked away in a corner, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect blends seamlessly into any interior, without the complexity of other systems.” traditional. We are eager for consumers to experience this new level of flexibility and audio performance.” More details in a few weeks, at CES 2026 in Las Vegas in early January.
