This year rumors have multiplied about the arrival of a Switch 2 console for 2024.
Nintendo Switch 2 “confirmed” by the FTC/Microsoft procedure
The hypothetical new Nintendo console would thus have been revealed in secret to partners during the last GamesCom show, and internal documents about it were even “leaked” as part of the unpacking of secrets that the affair caused “FTC versus Microsoft” (report on the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft). But the Japanese media Mainichi reports the comments of the president of Nintendo -Shuntaro Furukawa- who nevertheless affirms that the machine was never shown during public events or private meetings with players in the video game market.

An understandable statement as the end-of-year holidays approach. Nintendo actually wants to control communication around its new machine: announcing it too early could slow down the motivation of those who want to buy a Switch at Christmas, a console which continues to sell very well even though it is at the end of its cycle.
