Vin Diesel doesn't want Jean-Claude Van Damme in Fast & Furious

In a recent interview, Jean-Claude Van Damme said that the Fast & Furious franchise wanted him to be involved, but Vin Diesel, star and producer of the saga, opposed the idea.

“They wanted me, but not Vin Diesel,” JCVD said. If the franchise has seen many action film stars like Dwayne Johnson or Jason Statham, it has always been careful to avoid veterans of the genre, starting with Schwarzenegger and Van Damme.

The Timecop star did not reveal what role he had been approached for in the Fast & Furious saga but was keen to explain the situation in his own words: “People drove a Tesla on screen in magnificent and perfectly produced computer-generated images. And maybe today, for a while, some people now want to go back to the traditional shifter. Some. Do you see the metaphor? I'm a shifter."

JCVD in Expendables 25?

Note that Van Damme appeared as the villain in The Expendables 2. If his character was ultimately killed off, Stallone has already hinted that he could return as the character's twin brother. And Van Damme clarified: “Yes! That's what Stallone told me. Well, there’s always Expendables 5… or 25…”. Sacred Jean-Claude.

In the meantime, Universal is preparing to release the sequel to Fast & Furious 10 in theaters in April 2025. Source: Telegraph
