In the same vein as “popular films if they were made by another director”, the Buzzfeed site published last July a series of images generated by the artificial intelligence (AI) program Midjourney . The theme: Disney characters if they were drawn by Tim Burton (some examples below).
Tim Burton very disturbed by AI
In a recent interview with The Independent, Tim Burton was asked about this and explained what he felt: “I can't describe the feeling it gives. It reminded me of when other cultures say "Don't take my photo because it will take away my soul." What it does is it extracts something from you. It takes something from your soul or your psyche. This is very upsetting, especially if it has to do with you. It’s like a robot took your humanity, your soul.”
