3D printed components in the next Apple Watch Ultra

Apple could soon integrate a new process into its production line to limit costs.

According to a recent report by Taiwanese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who always keeps an ear behind the scenes of the manufacture of the most popular electronic gadgets, the next Apple Watch Ultra due at the end of the year would integrate components produced by 3D printing, a first for Apple.

Apple Watch Ultra: Digital Crown, side button and Action button made in 3D printing?

Specifically, some titanium mechanical components will be made by 3D printing, probably the Digital Crown, the button on the side, and the Action button (only mechanical elements of the Apple Watch Ultra). This manufacturing process has the advantage of accelerating production times and reducing costs. If all went well for this initial trial, Kuo believes that more components for Apple products would be made this way.
