Sound and light show, that’s the winning combination offered by the Pulse portable speaker from JBL since its first edition released in 2013. Today, the brand announces the Pulse 6, a greatly improved version that gains in power, adopts an unprecedented luminous handle, and is packed with new technologies.
Faithful to the lineage’s heritage, the newcomer combines the legendary JBL sound with a fully customizable light show broadcast in 360 degrees. On the audio side, the JBL Pulse 6 refines its internal architecture to deliver a more natural, more balanced sound backed by even deeper bass. To achieve this, the major new feature lies in the integration of the proprietary AI Sound Boost technology. This analyzes the musical signal in real time to optimize the performance of the transducers while drastically reducing distortion.
JBL Pulse 6: luminous metal handle, 16 visual themes and Bedside Lamp function
Visually, the JBL Pulse 6 reaches a new level with the introduction of a metal carrying handle (designed from 93% recycled metal) that incorporates its own lighting system to naturally extend the luminous effects of the speaker body. The choreographed animations evolve in rhythm with the music and soften when the tempo slows down. The user can choose between 16 different light themes: 10 relaxing moods (Universe, Firefly, Sea, Campfire, Aurora, Blossom, Cheers, Storm, Sky and Hover) and 6 festive modes (Neon, Loop, Bounce, Trim, Switch and Freeze). At the end of the day, the Sunset mode makes it possible to dim the light progressively via a configurable countdown. After dark, a simple double press activates the Bedside Lamp function to turn the speaker into a bedside lamp emitting a warm glow.
JBL Pulse 6: Auracast, Bluetooth 6.0, lossless USB-C playback and karaoke option
PartyBoost technology is gone, replaced now by the [abc]Auracast[/abc] protocol. This multi-speaker connectivity allows the JBL Pulse 6 to be connected to an unlimited number of compatible JBL speakers to widen the soundstage, or to pair two models to configure a true stereo setup. Even better, music and light shows can be synchronized in unison with other Pulse 6 units, as well as with JBL PartyBox party speakers and JBL PartyLight Stick light bars. Wireless transmission relies on the [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 6.0 standard, while the [abc]USB[/abc]-C port enables lossless digital wired listening. Also worth noting is compatibility with the optional JBL EasySing Mic Mini wireless microphone for improvised karaoke sessions. The entire ecosystem can be controlled at a glance and at your fingertips from the JBL One app (ambient sounds, graphic equalizer, selection of light patterns).
JBL Pulse 6: enhanced IP68 waterproofing and 12 hours of battery life
To take your music anywhere with complete peace of mind, the JBL Pulse 6 improves its resistance to external elements: it now benefits from IP68 certification (versus IP67 on the previous generation), guaranteeing total protection against dust and prolonged immersion in water. Finally, the built-in battery promises up to 12 hours of continuous battery life combining music and light show.
The JBL Pulse 6 will be sold starting October 6, 2026. Suggested retail price: 299.99 euros.
