Shortage of electronic components and above all galloping inflation have recently caused the price of many electronic devices to soar - such as the PlayStation 5 last year - but also several streaming platforms and services.

“We have maintained the price of our console, the price of the games and the price of our subscription (Editor’s note: to the Xbox Game Pass service), had declared Phil Spencer, president of Microsoft Gaming, in October 2022. I do not think that we can do it forever. I think we're going to have to raise the price on some things, but for this end of the year, we thought it was important to maintain our prices”.
What price? What about the Xbox Series S?
And the time has unfortunately come. Thus, from August 1, the Xbox Series X console will be displayed at € 559.99 instead of € 499.99 currently. Note that the price of the Xbox Series S does not change, and that some privileged territories -USA, Japan, Chile, Brazil and Colombia- are not (yet) affected by this increase.
What about Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate services?
As for services, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription goes from €12.99 to €14.99, and the Xbox Game Pass from €9.99 to €10.99. The PC version is not affected, and the change will be effective from July 6 for new subscribers, and August 13 for current customers.
