It was the creator of the original series, Chris Carter himself, who released the information during an interview. He clarified that Ryan Coogler was indeed working on a new version of the franchise. A story without end
The original series featured FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), who investigate supernatural phenomena.
