iPhone 14 Pro, variable geometry notch?

The new iPhone 14 Pro selfie hole may change shape and size depending on the apps used.

It's been rumored for a while that the notch at the top of the screen will disappear for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. It will normally give way to two contiguous perforations, one oval, the other circular. However, they will look different once the screen is on, according to the latest leaks collected by the MacRumors site and confirmed by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

Different shape notches as required

In concrete terms, when the screen is turned on, the iPhone displays additional black pixels near the two perforations to connect them, giving the impression that they form a single horizontal oval perforation. The reason is aesthetic, Apple considering that these two holes spoil "the visual experience". Additionally, this shape could even expand in width or height to line up with icons on the side, or display notifications on the bottom. We are curious to see the result in practice.
