LG Oled TV delivery, record first quarter 2022

The market analysis firm Omdia announces that the Korean LG Electronics closed the first quarter of 2022 with a record number of OLED TVs marketed in the world.

Omdia therefore recorded 924,600 Oled LG TVs for the first three months of the year, an increase of 17% compared to the first quarter of 2021 which had already marked record growth for the brand.

In total, from January 1 to March 31, by adding the figures for LCD TV and OLED TV, Omdia announces that LG Electronics has sold 6,193,600 units worldwide, for a market share of 17% in value. For further information, the Oled TV market for the first quarter of 2022 is estimated at 1,486,000 units, up 24.7% compared to the same period last year. In the end, LG has a market share of 62.2% by volume. At the same time, LCD TV sales fell by 5%. Regarding the 2022 Oled TV market, Omdia forecasts a total of 8 million units offered by 21 brands.

Overall, still for these first three months of the year, according to Omdia the TV market has 49,069,800 units, a drop of 2,184,700 compared to the first three months of 2021. Last clarification, Korean brands accounted for 50.6% of TV sales ahead of Chinese at 25.9%.
