As usual, the Japanese manufacturer is taking advantage of the CES show in Las Vegas to unveil its premium TV series. It is therefore the same in 2022 with the Oled Panasonic LZ2000 TV series.

Unlike the 2021 vintage JZ2000 series, the 2022 vintage LZ2000 series will have three references, the Panasonic TX-55LZ2000 (140 cm), Panasonic TX-65LZ2000 (165 cm) and Panasonic TX-77LZ2000 (196 cm), the panel of the latter being called Oled Pro Cinema Size.

TV Oled Panasonic LZ2000, the main specifications

These of course offer all the equipment of last year's JZ2000 models plus recent technical improvements from in-house engineers to display an ever more beautiful image, in addition to the latest technologies of the moment with, in particular, a focus on video games: Game Control Board function, optimization of the Input Lag for 60 Hz games and automatic detection of nVidia processors.

Still in terms of evolutions, there is a new sound bar with 16 front speakers in networks (in line and grouped), associated with the lateral speakers and those in Up-Firing configuration. Of course, the entire audio system of the Panasonic LZ2000 TVs has been developed and configured by engineers from the famous Hi-Fi Technics firm, owned by Panasonic.

HCX Pro AI Processor

On Panasonic LZ2000 TVs we find the HCX Pro AI Processor chip whose algorithm is based on Machine Learning technology in order to adapt in real time (image analysis every second) the best parameters according to the displayed content . Namely, this machine learning process is associated with a huge image database with over a million video clips. Of course, the HCX Pro AI Processor chip automatically acts on the sound delivered by Panasonic LZ2000 televisions, again by finely adapting the settings to the nature of the displayed program, movie, sport…

Game Control Board

As already mentioned, video games are another of the aspects particularly taken care of by Panasonic on the Oled LZ2000 TVs. In addition to a minimum Input Lag of 1.5 ms with 60 Hz games (10.5 ms otherwise), we of course notice the presence of HDMI 2.1 connector (s) (unspecified as to their number) compatible with VRR, ALLM and HFR 4K / 120. However, it remains to check the frequency range supported for the VRR (see our news PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X: should you change TV? (Part 1: the image).

HDR Dolby Vision IQ and Filmmaker Mode

As a reminder, the new process proposed by Dolby Laboratories, the Dolby Vision IQ aims, in the presence of HDR content Dolby Vision, to offer always optimum image quality whatever the ambient light conditions, without having to use the remote control.

But also to adapt The best TV picture settings are based on real-time analysis of the displayed content. Thus, on a snowy landscape, HDR Dolby Vision IQ influences the color temperature to approximate the whiteness of powder.

Namely, the Filmmaker Mode option of the Panasonic LZ200 TVs is associated with the Intelligent Sensing process, which uses the brightness sensor of the TVs. ers to adjust the HDR rendering according to the light environment. More generally, and with the aim of constantly improving displayed image quality, the LZ2000 TVs incorporate an RGB sensor capable of adapting the color temperature displayed on the screen according to that of the environment, in no longer just influence the brightness alone.

HDR10 +, HDR HLG, HDR Dolby Vision and HDR Photo

The Panasonic LZ2000 televisions, in addition to the HDR10 + Adaptive already mentioned, are of course compatible with HDR10 +, HDR HLG and HDR Dolby Vision, not to mention HDR Photo, the HDR format for digital photos which also appeared in 2019.

Master HDR Oled Professional Edition 4K

Like the 2018/2019/2020 and 2021 Oled TV ranges, the Panasonic LZ2000 series benefits from a Panasonic Oled panel. If the latter is still from the manufacturer LG Display (a company belonging to LG Group, like LG Electronics), it was optimized by the Panasonic teams in partnership with a renowned and famous Hollywood colorist, Stefen Sonnefeld, who collaborated with the biggest film directors and the biggest box-office hits such as A Star is Born, Man of Steel, Wonder Woman, Jurassic World, 300, Star Wars: the Force Awakens, Beauty and the Beast… Panasonic n he does not hesitate to name the Oled panel of the LZ2000 TVs under the name Professional Edition 4K Oled.

On the menu, a very bright average brightness level (ABL) and an optimized management of the contrast by the Panasonic engineers with the possibility of calibrating the gray scale to 0.5% and 1.3%, for a Premium HDR. Panasonic emphasizes the ability of the LZ2000 TVs to display images in varying contrast or brightness without difficulty. Namely, these performances remain identical to those of TV JZ2000 marketed in 2021.

Similarly, appeared on Panasonic 2020 Oled TVs, the option to disable Tone Mapping (conversion of colors between an image with a greater dynamic range than that of the broadcaster in order to avoid clipping or clipping), and specifying the TV's clipping level via the menu is always appropriate. Thus, content producers will be able to make full use of all the performance of TV in this area, so that the clipping really takes place to the maximum of the TV's capacities, and not before. The result is a richer, more natural image.

CalMan compatibility on the menu

Of course, the Panasonic LZ2000 televisions also support the CalMan PatternGen test patterns from the CalMan Portrait Display software via the AutoCal functionality. Another precision is the ISF certification and the 3D Lut (color conversion table) integrated on the LZ2000 models, which is faster to adapt immediately to the change in light, are still on the program on the LZ2000.

Panasonic has worked with LoungV Studio and the Joy Foundation to deliver quality relaxation videos.
