Oppo unveils its first mobile processor

The Chinese manufacturer Oppo enters the race for processors by unveiling its first chip for mobile devices.

The MariSilicon X is the first mobile processor developed by Oppo, and we will find it in a device marketed from the first quarter of 2022. Without going into too much technical detail, the chip is naturally presented as a performance beast, especially for the processing of images captured by the camera.

This is therefore compatible with the Raw format, allowing, among other things, the capture of Ultra HD 4K videos. The MariSilicon X is also equipped with a powerful Specialized Image Signal Processor (ISP) to capture snapshots with a dynamic range of 20 bits and 120 db, which is 4 times that of the Oppo Find X3 Pro. Noise reduction algorithms ensure crisp and clear videos, and the processor also offers wide dynamic range and rich colors. Finally, note for the first time on Android, the possibility of capturing night videos in HDR in UHD 4K quality.

Jiang Bo, Senior Product Manager at Oppo, has the floor

"Having spent more than 10 years pushing the boundaries of imaging technology, Oppo is one of the most innovative manufacturers when it comes to camera modules, lenses and algorithms," said Jiang Bo, Senior Product Manager at Oppo. With this new processor, we are making one of the biggest breakthroughs we have made so far. Today we can bring more power to photo systems and create great experiences for all of our users. ”
