LG Electronics is enhancing its artistic content service LG Gallery+ on its webOS televisions with the global launch of a new series designed to showcase local cultures. Launched on November 3, 2026 with the K-Heritage Collection, this initiative includes 21 digital artworks inspired by the Korean Joseon dynasty, designed to enhance the brand's screens, including the LG Oled evo W6 Wallpaper, LG Oled evo G6 and LG Gallery TV ranges.
Turning your television into an art frame when it is on standby is no longer the preserve of a single Korean manufacturer. With its LG Gallery+ platform, LG Electronics intends to impose its own vision of the home museum by launching a series of collections dedicated to the artistic and visual heritage of different regions of the world. The idea is to invite viewers to discover the stories, aesthetics and traditions that shape each country’s identity, directly in their living room.
K-Heritage Collection: immersion in the Joseon dynasty
For this first installment, titled K-Heritage Collection (Season 1-Joseon Royal Court Series), LG is playing at home and drawing on the royal culture of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897) through 21 digital creations. It begins with dynamic media-art videos recreating the architecture and atmosphere of historic palaces. The work Into the Throne Hall, for example, offers a traversal of the Geunjeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace, highlighting its columns, ceilings and dancheong (intricate traditional decorative paintings). For its part, Between Moon and Water captures the soothing nighttime views of the Gyeonghoeru pavilion and the surrounding landscapes.
The collection also reinterprets classic royal paintings as digital art, such as Ilwolobongdo (the Sun, the Moon and the Five Peaks), Morando (peony paintings) and Gunando (flocks of wild geese). Other virtual tableaux focus on craftsmanship and period artifacts: white porcelain moon jars, Buncheong ceramics, blue-and-white porcelain, and state seals (guksae). To bring these national treasures to life, the manufacturer relied on three local technology specialists: Wipco (experts in digital twins) for production assets, Hedit (Heritage Lab) for creation, and Elfactory for integration and distribution on the platform.
More than 5,000 works for the LG Oled evo W6, G6 and Gallery TV
Beyond this Korean showcase, which is set to be followed by other global cultural showcases, LG continues to expand the LG Gallery+ catalog. The service is already partnered with leading institutions such as the National Gallery in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met) in New York and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, as well as with the contemporary platform Saatchi Art. In total, more than 5,000 pieces (classical and modern paintings, sculptures, video game illustrations, nature photographs) are available to dress the panels of the LG Art TV lineup, which notably includes the LG Oled evo W6 Wallpaper, LG Oled evo G6 and LG Gallery TV televisions. “Art can offer a unique window onto a place, its history, creativity and identity,” said Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “Starting with Korea, we want LG Gallery+ to help audiences discover distinctive artistic perspectives from different parts of the world in their everyday living spaces. As the series grows, we look forward to working with local partners to bring more of these creative stories and traditions to audiences around the world. We will continue to expand our offering of art content and collaborate with partners to provide a broader range of cultural and artistic experiences on LG televisions.”
The K-Heritage collection is available now via the LG Gallery+ app on compatible LG televisions equipped with the webOS system.
