Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra: new photo design and 200 Mpixels sensor?

Expected for February 2027, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra smartphone and the rest of the S27 lineup have already begun to reveal some of their manufacturing secrets, including an aesthetic redesign, increased battery life, and a new camera sensor. And based on these leaks, designers from all sides are giving us a visual idea of what to expect.

Today, an AI text prompt is enough to generate the visual of a product that does not exist, or not yet. Impressive certainly, but we will not stop preferring small craftsmen who create their 3D renderings, “the old-fashioned way”.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, from vertical module to horizontal plate

The latest example is this visualization of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, normally expected in February 2027, created by the YouTube channel 4RMD. The device in the video naturally draws inspiration from the latest rumors, starting with a real design change on the back. The traditional vertical camera module thus gives way to a horizontal plate, inspired by the 2025 iPhone 17 Pro.

The new Galaxy S27 Pro is also expected to adopt this design, while the Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus will look more like their predecessors. Another expected new feature for the S27 Ultra is a battery with a significantly greater capacity than the usual 5,000 mAh.

200-megapixel Isocell HP6 sensor and variable aperture

The latest rumors also report a number of cameras going from four to three. In return, the 200-megapixel main sensor (Isocell HP6 presumably) would gain a feature not seen since the Galaxy S10 series, namely a variable diaphragm aperture system.
