Marvel announces Zodiac, a new espionage series full of mysteries

Marvel Television took advantage of its presentation at New York Comic Con to unveil the first logo for Zodiac, its new live-action espionage series, expected in 2028.

According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, filming will begin next spring in London, while casting is expected to start in the coming weeks. No other information has so far been released regarding this new production, which marks the first announcement of a live-action Marvel series since Ironheart, which aired last year.

However, let us recall that in the comics, the Zodiac is a criminal organization that first appeared in Avengers No. 72, in 1969. It brings together twelve leaders, each representing a zodiac sign. Its founder, Cornelius van Lunt, alias Taurus, aims to control the world economy and politics.

Secret Warriors, a closely guarded secret?

But it is above all another character who could play a central role in the series: Jacob “Jake” Fury, Nick Fury’s brother. According to information reported by The Hollywood Reporter in September, the project could revolve around Scorpio, his alter ego, and the world of Marvel’s clandestine organizations. Enough to fuel speculation about a possible adaptation of Secret Warriors, even though Marvel has confirmed neither Scorpio’s presence nor that of Nick Fury.

Live-action makes its return at Marvel

While waiting to learn more, let us hope that the series will live up to the mystery carefully maintained around its plot and characters. After all, a true espionage thriller, dark and ambitious, would not hurt a MCU that sometimes struggles to find the right inspiration.

Zodiac should thus be the first live-action Marvel series to see the light of day after the conclusion of Daredevil : Born Again, whose third season will be the last. A return to the screen that could take place after more than a year-long pause in Marvel live-action television productions.
