Foldable iPhone, and still a concept

The imaginations of designers are boiling with, once again, a new 3D extrapolation of what will be (perhaps) the first iPhone with a foldable screen.

The artists' concepts follow one another and are often similar. Here is the latest signed by the YouTube channel ios beta news, which we often find in our pages via its realistic and inspired designs (for example, the iPhone SE4).

Clamshell foldable iPhone concept

In this video, you can admire a foldable screen iPhone with a flip design like Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip. Named iPhone 16 Flip, it uses the curved edges popular on the Apple firm's smartphone before the iPhone 12 range imposed more straightness. Next to the dual photo sensor on the back is a small additional screen allowing you to check the time and notifications when the device is folded.

Hinges too visible for Apple?

Small disappointment however, while the very principle of the 3D concept allows for perfection free from real technical constraints, we observe here an unsightly space between the two halves of the device when it is folded. According to the latest rumors, an iPhone of this type would only see the light of day if Apple is satisfied with the reliability of foldable screens (see our news foldable iPhone in 2025 or 2026, it's becoming clearer but...). Not for tomorrow then.
