Internal bleeding: Apple Watch to the rescue

And a new episode in our series “The Apple Watch (again) saves a life”. We never tire.

Apple's connected watch deserves its little superhero cape again, this time with the electrocardiogram of the Apple Watch Series 7 which sends a person to the emergency room before it's too late.

Gut alert

This is a story reported by a Reddit forum user whose Apple Watch detected unusual heart activity during a short nap. Since the gentleman's iPhone and Apple Watch were in "Do Not Disturb" mode, the alerts were not seen immediately. But as soon as he discovers them, the lucky future calls his doctor who, after checking the heart rate and the blood oxygen level, sends his patient directly to the emergency room.

Thanks WHO ?

It took him well, since the hospital discovered a serious gastrointestinal haemorrhage. Cardiac oddities are indeed often signs that something is wrong in the body, not necessarily on the heart side. After a blood transfusion the man is saved, which would not have been possible if he had arrived a little later. Thank you Apple Watch.
