A screen in front, a screen behind for the future Samsung smartphone

Samsung could one day launch a mobile equipped with two screens: one on the front, and the other on the back of the device.

Registered in early 2022 by Samsung and recently published, a patent describes a smartphone equipped with two screens: one on the front, and the other on the back of the device. A concept that is reminiscent of the Nubia X launched in 2018 by the Chinese manufacturer ZTE. The latter has a main 6.26'' LCD screen and a second 5.1'' Oled screen at the back, with lower definition.

Mobile Smartphone with transparent back screen

In the patent filed by Samsung, the rear screen has the particularity of being transparent, and therefore almost invisible when it is not on. In addition, it has Always on technology (always on), which permanently displays certain information when not in use, for example the Samsung logo. The screen occupies about 60% of the lower back of the device, the top being reserved for a photo module with a triple lens. As always, let's remember that patents do not confirm that a product is in development, but provide important clues as to the directions explored internally by its manufacturer.
