Samsung Galaxy Note: what would the return of the mythical Korean phablet look like?

What if Samsung decided to resurrect its most iconic format? An appealing concept video imagines the grand return of the Samsung Galaxy Note, that ultimate benchmark of large-screen smartphones, which the Korean brand eventually ended up merging with its Galaxy S Ultra range.

Despite the title Samsung Galaxy S27, this concept video by Android Leo leaves no doubt about the device being presented: a true Galaxy Note, the famous historic “phablet” that made the Korean manufacturer’s heyday before disappearing from the lineup.

The return of right angles and the monolithic style

We thought the device would return in 2024, but in the end, no. This 3D concept marks the return of the Galaxy Note’s square edges and corners, which have softened over the years to become rounded on the Galaxy S. Grip has thus become more pleasant, though at the cost of the upright, angular presence that characterized the Galaxy Note.

A second matrix display in the Nothing style

And since this is a concept, the designer allowed for a bit of madness, taking advantage of the space beside the vertical camera module to install a small pixelated display, Nothing-style, for showing notifications and other playful emojis.
