The streaming platform is testing its own voice assistant to help users find content to watch.
Rather than relying on existing voice assistants (Alexa, Gemini, Siri, or Bixby), Netflix is developing its own AI-powered help system, accessible by voice and directly integrated into the app. Netflix is testing its own AI assistant. This is revealed by the website lowpass, which explains that the feature is currently being tested with a select group of users in the United States. The assistant is activated by an "Ask" button, allowing the user to speak and describe the type of program they want to watch. At this stage, the system is still limited, not yet leveraging your personal recommendation data accumulated over time, and responding with text rather than voice. The test apparently only works on Google TV devices but should be rolled out to all other systems once validated.
