Philips AmbiScape: Upgrade to Ambilight lighting for total immersion
17.03.2026 • 15h00
An iconic Philips TV technology, Ambilight takes another step forward with the arrival of AmbiScape, a feature designed to project the lighting experience far beyond a simple halo around the wall.
In summary, AmbiScape is strikingly similar to the Philips + Hue feature found in the brand's projectors until 2022, which allowed users to control the color of the Hue bulbs connected to the screen, before being discontinued. The idea behind AmbiScape is the same: to synchronize the lighting of the entire room where the television is located with the colors of the image, for an immersive experience that literally envelops the viewer. However, its advantage in 2026 is its expanded compatibility with numerous lighting products. This is a natural evolution for a technology adopted by more than 35 million households, and for which more than 80% of users say it has become essential to their viewing experience. AmbiScape, Ambilight goes beyond the box. Originally designed to reduce eye strain and enhance contrast perception, Ambilight technology has gradually transformed into a true sensory signature. AmbiScape takes this concept further. Some Philips TVs equipped with Ambilight can now control up to four connected bulbs from the Wiz, Nanoleaf, Philips Hue, or Ikea ecosystems. Each light source reproduces the colors of the image in real time, with a latency of less than 0.5 seconds, for visual continuity that encompasses the entire room. AmbiScape, simplified installation and advanced customization. AmbiScape is activated via a dedicated button on the remote control or from the Ambilight menu. Pairing the bulbs is done via a simple QR code displayed on the screen, providing access to a list of compatible devices and a step-by-step installation guide. Users can mix brands, define the location of each bulb in the room, and choose the synchronization mode: video, music, or a fixed color. The entire system will also be controllable via the Philips Smart TV app. AmbiScape, widespread rollout in 2026: After a testing phase on select 2025 models, AmbiScape will be rolled out more broadly in 2026 starting with the 8000 series, including all new 2026 OLED TVs as well as the RGB Mini LED model, the Philips MLED981. The feature will also be introduced on Philips Evnia gaming monitors, extending the immersive experience to gaming environments, where dynamic lighting can enhance atmosphere and readability. AmbiScape, a new dimension for the Philips ecosystem. With AmbiScape, TP Vision transforms Ambilight into a true synchronized ambient lighting system, capable of transforming the viewing space. This evolution further reinforces the uniqueness of Philips TVs, the only ones equipped with the brilliant Ambilight technology.
