Elipson is expanding its range of active speakers with a new, more affordable line: Horus Active BT. Two models are available: the Horus 6B Active BT bookshelf speaker and the Horus 11F Active BT floorstanding speaker, both designed as complete, ready-to-use Hi-Fi solutions requiring no external electronics. We missed their launch last fall, so we're making up for it now.
Available in three elegant finishes, the Elipson Horus Active BT speakers feature a structured acoustic package based on the drivers of the Horus series: a 25mm silk dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet and a 13cm midrange/woofer made of fiberglass-reinforced cellulose pulp, the latter doubled on the 11F floorstanding model. Each pair of Horus Active BT speakers incorporates Class D amplification (2 x 50W RMS), an optimized bass-reflex design, and integrated electronics housed in one of the two speakers, the other being passive. A simple, efficient configuration perfectly suited to a Hi-Fi or audio-video setup connected to a television.
Elipson Horus 6B/11F Active BT: Comprehensive Connectivity Connectivity is one of the strong points of the new Horus Active BT. It features two analog inputs, including a phono MM input with a ground terminal, a feature rare enough in this category to warrant mentioning. The digital section is equally comprehensive with coaxial and optical 192 kHz/24-bit inputs, a USB-C audio input for 96 kHz/24-bit audio allowing direct connection to a computer without an external DAC, as well as HDMI and ARC for easy integration with a television. Connectivity is based on Bluetooth 5.0 APT-X HD compatibility, while an LFE output allows for the addition of an active subwoofer. A particularly comprehensive set of features, capable of accommodating a turntable, a CD player, a streamer, a PC, or a television, without requiring any additional electronics. Elipson Horus 11F Active BT: A versatile floorstanding speaker for the living room. With its two 13cm mid-woofers and larger cabinet volume, the Horus 11F Active BT reaches down to 40Hz, offering a more comfortable listening experience for Hi-Fi or TV use. The aforementioned HDMI ARC input allows for discreet integration on either side of a display, without the need for a soundbar or amplifier.
