Stranger Things 5 Volume 1, record confirmed

A seemingly historic 8.46 billion minutes of viewing time was recorded for the first week of broadcast (November 26-30) of the four episodes of Stranger Things 5 Volume 1, reports the Nielsen Institute. Stranger Things 5 Volume 1 dethrones Stranger Things 4. The top spot was previously held by… Stranger Things 4, whose seven episodes were released at the end of May 2022, for a viewing time of 5.14 billion minutes in its first week. 59% of viewers for this first part of the fifth season are in the 18-49 age bracket, the highest percentage for this demographic across all of the week's Top 10 programs. Incidentally, the weeks leading up to this broadcast saw a surge in viewership for previous seasons, with the series being the third most-watched program the week of November 3rd (921 million minutes), then number 1 the week of November 10th (1.345 billion), and still in first place the week of November 17th (1.683 billion).
