CES 26 > Samsung QD OLED TV 2026: 4,500 nits expected
03.01.2026 • 10h02
There's no doubt that Samsung's new OLED TV ranges, along with those from LG, will once again be a highlight of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, taking place from January 6th to 9th next week. In this regard, Samsung Display is highlighting its latest QD OLED panel, capable of reaching a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. This is crucial information for Samsung Electronics' 2026 QD OLED TV lineup.
Like LG (see our CES 26 news > LG G6 and LG W6 OLED TVs confirmed with Hyper Radiant OLED technology), the first information about Samsung's 2026 TV range is starting to emerge through a communication from Samsung Display, the Korean group's screen manufacturer and supplier of QD OLED panels. And the big news is, unsurprisingly, a higher peak brightness of 4,500 nits (as a reminder, 1 nit is equivalent to the brightness of a candle per square meter, or precisely 3,426 lumens per square meter). This performance is linked to the development of a new QD OLED panel with optimized organic materials that maximize each RGB component. This advancement promises more vibrant colors and superior perceived brightness, perfectly compatible with the AI image optimization technologies integrated into the brand's 2026 premium TVs. Once again, this value announced by Samsung Display will need to be verified in a benchmark test. In any case, peak brightness performance should therefore improve again this year. 2026 QD OLED Panel, no 83" in 2026? Finally, the photo published for the occasion by Samsung Display is undoubtedly, as usual, a clue related to these new QD OLED panels. We at the editorial team are leaning towards the information that these QD OLED panels will once again be limited to a 77" (196 cm) diagonal in 2026. The 83" S95H model announced in our pages at the end of November (see our CES 26 news > Samsung OLED & Mini LED 2026 Ultra HD 4K TV Range) would therefore still be based on a 2026 OLED Tandem panel (see our CES 26 news > LG OLED TVs 2026: the 3 C6, G6 and W6 series with OLED Tandem panels?).
