Foldable iPhone, smaller than the iPhone Mini?

New rumors about the size of the external screen of the first-ever foldable iPhone, slated for release in 2026, have surfaced online, offering clues about the size of the rumored device.
Known for its reliability, the Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station recently provided new details about the very first foldable iPhone, supposedly due for release in late 2026. Foldable iPhone: surprisingly tiny dimensions? The source revealed that the external screen should measure 5.25 inches diagonally, slightly smaller than the previously mentioned 5.5 inches, but more importantly, smaller than the 5.4 inches of the iPhone 13 Mini, the smallest model ever released by Apple. In fact, it can be assumed that the device will be the smallest iPhone, even if it compensates with its 7.58-inch foldable internal screen (previously estimated at 7.74 inches). Furthermore, this source explains that Apple wants to prioritize the device's thinness, explaining the replacement of Face ID with a side-mounted Touch ID, which takes up less space. The rumor also reiterates Apple's requirement for the hinge, designed without compromise to be both strong and efficient. It should be noted, however, that these dimensions are contradicted by recently leaked technical diagrams (see our news article on the foldable iPhone, first images). We will therefore have to wait for further rumors to get a clearer idea of what the future holds.
